Center of Can Tho Orthopedics and Rehabilitation
The Mission teams were formally greeted by Dr. Lap, Medical Director of the Can Tho Orthopedics and Rehabilitation Clinic. The day started at 7:30 am, arriving to a mass of patients with various medical needs. The Mission provides free care to patients with orthopedic illnesses. Temple's component of the mission is to provide traditional pharmacy dispensing activities, however, with our teams expertise we assisted with every aspect of the Medical Clinic. Students and faculty performed all vital sign assessments, measured blood glucose and administered injectable medications. In addition, within a Mission, many extra activities are needed, including stabilizing patients for injections to the back, translating in all areas of the mission, performing every intake assessment etc... We are happy to provide all of these services and more!! The patients were nothing but genuinely ecstatic of our services, even though sadly we had to turn away some because of resources. Don't worry, tomorrow's another day and we plan to evaluate and treat each and every patient.
We treated over 80 patients until 6:00 pm with more than that expected for the remaining 3 weeks of our Mission!!
